TEKNO'S DRIVER SEARCHTEKNO AUTOSPORTTEKNO AUTOSPORT has narrowed its search for a new driver down to three candidates.Andrew Thompson, Alex Davison and a third unknown driver are in the mix to fill the hotly-contested second seat, with the team expected to make a decision in the coming weeks."There are three guys we're talking to at the moment, but we definitely haven't locked anything in; said Tekno's current driver Jonathon Webb. "So we're still talking to people and we're definitely talking to Alex and Andrew. Alex is one of those experienced guys who have been there and done that, but we're still talking to Thommo as well. Obviously Thommo is available, and he won the Fujitsu Series last year, so it'd be a good natural step for him."Webb wouldn't be drawn on who the third candidate is, but ruled out Kiwi Jonny Reid for the full-time seat."He's someone we're talking to for the enduros; said Webb. "We tested him last year and he went well, but he hasn't got enough experience to consider him for the full-time seat."Webb said he is torn between hiring an experienced driver or giving a young, unproven driver a chance."Both have positives and negatives;' he said. "An experienced guy is going to come in and do a good clean job and leave the car in one piece, but it can also be a bit limiting knowing that he has achieved as much as he can in VBs. But with a young guy, you have an unknown who could wreck the car."Webb also revealed the team is yet to sign a major sponsor for 2012, with existing backer Mother Energy drink unlikely to return."The minute you get two cars it changes everything," he said. "But we're currently sitting down an evaluating all our options."Al
